This HP StorageWorks MSA2012i 1GbE iSCSI Storage Array is an ideal SAN starter kit for a low to medium I/O Virtual&#######xA0. You would easily be able to get have 10 to 20 hosts and 80 to 100 VM's running on this SAN head without any I/O bottle necks. You have Dual 1Gb Ethernet iSCSI Controllers giving you a total of 4x 1Gb Ethernet Ports or 4Gb Ethernet network bandwidth with Ether-Channels setup. The Dual Controller configuration also gives you full redundancy against any controller failures.
You can attach up to 3 additional MSA2000 12x LFF 3.5 Hard Drive Expansion Arrays (AJ750A) to this SAN Controller Head via the SAS Expantion ports on the back of each iSCSI Controller.
